About Us:

The Base Realingment And Closure (BRAC), BRACWatch website is a stand alone source of useful information and support mechanism for the national BRACWatch e-Newsletter.

The intention of the founding sponsors is to aggregate useful information for small and mid sized businesses seeking information on BRAC and how it will affect their bottom line. It was later determined that information of value to families affected by BRAC activities would also be addressed. Information of value to government employees and officials would also be offered but to a lesser degree as the local, state and federal agencies are already providing much of the needed information in this area. Questions and suggestions will always be welcome.

Thank you to our visitors, sponsors and contributors.

BRACWatch Provides Free and Fee Based Services to Serve the Community, our Sponsors Him. †

Together with business associates, agency and government representatives it was agreed that a void existed in the region for timely, concise information about BRAC (Base Realignment And Closure) and its impact on small and mid-sized companies, government agencies and the residential community. Many ideas were discussed and several exciting ideas were talked about. There were some challenges in identifying the method of delivery, a name, and the resources needed to make what was to become the innovative BRACWatch™ newsletter possible. In order to offer some of the more exciting and innovative delivery technologies available and make future functionalities a reality, it was determined that a website would be needed to support the newsletter. The supporting website carries the same BRACWatch™ name.

Access to the BRACWatch™ website and monthly delivery of the BRACWatch™ e-Newsletter will be free of charge. Periodic special news and announcements will also be included. BRACWatch’s objective will be to serve the small and mid-size businesses in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Useful information of interest to the residential and government sectors will also be included. The e-Newsletter will be created and delivered via high-speed HTML email and look like some of the nicer e-Newsletters you may have already seen.

We will be use only a double opt-in mailing list which means our E-Newsletter members specifically sign up for and then respond to a confirming email before our system accepts their email address and will begin delivering content. Thus, the “double opt-in” nature of the list. This will ensure full compliance and with all email deliveries laws and guarantee quality delivery. Our policy can be seen here. The BRACWatch™ is a member of the Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email.

The content will be about BRAC, its impact to businesses and the community. The BRAC content will account for 75-90% of the newsletter and website. We would also like to include information on relocation services, about the state and counties and where to find goods & services for the benefit our present and new incoming neighbors and of course local businesses.

Content will be brief and fast reading and modeled after Professional Book Summaries. Information will include as often as possible, URLs, phone numbers and email addresses to guide the readers to further information if desired ensuring BRACWatch is fast reading yet complete.

BRACWatch will make use of a six to twelve member Advisory Board to make certain the most relevant and timely information is communicated and to assist us in ensuring the highest quality of this free community service.

BRACWatch™ will be supported by initially by founding sponsors and then general sponsors as they are identified. Links to our site are encouraged and editorial content or comment can be sent to the BRACWatch editor.
